NSA investigation dropped?!?
The Bush administration has done it again. The justice department is dropping its investigation of the Bush administration because the NSA has refused to grant clearences to the lawyers involved. So, the NSA (run by Bush cronies) refuses to let the Justice Department (run by Bush cronies) have the proper clearence. So the Justice Department simply drops the case.
Colbert Video Takedown
About a week or so ago, Stephen Colbert spoke before the President and many of the media top brass. He was both funny and biting, and the event did not make the press or the president look very good. The mainstream press just sort of ignored it for a few days. Then they reported it, but only to say that it really “wasn’t very funny”. Videos of the event were on both Google Video and You Tube though.
Last night, I clicked on one of the links that was sent to me last week only to discover that the video had been taken down due to copyright infringement. You see, this event was broadcast on C-SPAN, and it is therefore owned by C-SPAN. This piece of our shared history is being erased quietly with a “takedown notice”.
This is what is wrong with world. When media organizations start using copyright to keep you from seeing news… well… we’re in a sad state.
