Work is killing me, too, which is why I am checking your blog for a distraction. :) Is your trip back to Austin for ACL your ultimate return or just a short visit?
P.S. Would you hate me if I told you we were going to Rounders for dinner?!? If so, we’re not. If not, we are. :)
My plan is to move back sometime in September. Not sure exactly, but probably prior to ACL.

I check in every few days or so to get my world travel fix vicariously through you. I haven’t been doing any travel for business lately, and I sorta miss it (surprisingly enough).
As for Rounders, we should go next time you’re in town. And I suppose we should also invite the old married couple, even though they dangle Rounders in front of us like a carrot on a string. :) Geesh, I live here and haven’t been back there since the last time Barker was here, I think.
of course we’re still reading, chops! we were going to go to oslo-the-club in your honor, but soon realized that it sucks. but everyone here misses you and probably wishes you were here. when are you coming to visit?

Work,… what can one say? Sometimes nothing– my coworker and I comiserated this morning. Unable to speak the words, I jotted down on the post-it note: “Do you feel as useless as I do here?”
Anyways, this matters not. In addition to the steady stream of paychecks, just to feel better I get in my *new* car and go for a spin. Well, new to me. It’s a ’98 Volvo s70. All black. Moon roof. Cd player. Turbo charged. Dual zone AC. Safety features to the hilt. Full leather interior. Power everything. Few miles– in the volvo world, a young pup. $1200 below blue book value. The former owner is a jet pilot, so I can only assume it’s in fine working order– his mecahnic wanted to buy the car. Otherwise, a hit with the ladies. Especially Samantha who threated to buy it from under me if I didn’t get it for myself. Cold.
Anyways, maybe I should start my own blog. Maybe you can hire me out as a guest blogger.

I’m looking forward to you coming back. Sucks that you’re coming back for ACL – I deliberated about buying tickets from Troux for cheap, but decided that I didn’t know enough people who were going, so I decided against it. Suxor Maximus.
